Recirquel Company was founded by director and coreographer: Bence VÁGI in Budapest 2012. The company’s aim is to introduce a new middle-eastern European, Hungarian contemporary circus genre to all other countries in the world. The roots of hungarian classical circus go back as far as 1800, and also one of the oldest circus schools in Europe was founded in Budapest, 1950.
The founder and artistic director of the Company invited 11 young acrobats to participate in a new production created for the 20th SZIGET Festival Anniversary. Recirquel’s first premiere became an overnight success. The young company drew not only the attention of audiences, but avoke the interest of the Palace of Arts – Budapest (Hungary’s leading cultural institute), and was asked to create it’s first full-evening contemporary circus show. In 2013 spring Night Circus was born. The show became a cultural highlight of Budapest.
In 2014 spring the company’s second production: The Naked Clown was premierred at the Budapest Spring Festival, and is currently playing at the Palace of Arts.
